Apprenticed into design-based research of students’ mathematical cognition and instruction, and collaborated on a project, while building research expertise by readings of articles, cognitive domain analysis, and qualitative analyses of data.

Set up an organization with an aim to popularize math, via contest events, et al. Engaged in event organization, as well as extensive print design for the same.

Exploring Out of the box thinking | Ongoing
An exploratory project aimed to understand how to incite creative approaches in problem solving processes, and design a system to be able to learn the same.

Prototyped Colorave | September 14-15, 2013 †
Conceptualized a system to explore the correlations between light’s waveform & nature, and its apparent properties like color. Made a prototype using fiducials (TUIO), and Processing, whch enabled manipulation of the wave’s properties, and seeing the resultant color.

Conceptualized TextTagger | September, 2013
Creating an application to enable a digitally augmented layer of annotations of physical books, as a means of having contextualized discussions on documents in the print medium. Prototyping as an Android application, and researched, in a team of 4.

Designed and built Giant Steps for Algebra | Summer, 2013 †
Under Professor Dor Abrahamson, UC, Berkeley

Collaborated on a design-based research project investiating the emergence of conceptual understanding from task-oriented problem solving using virutal objects.

Conceptualized and prototyped Sur-real | January 21-25, 2013 †
Created a system to accept gestural inputs on arbitrary surfaces, using acoustic inputs, for high mobility and flexibility. At the MIT-DI workshop, Bangalore, 2013, in a team of 5, made and demoed as an Arduino+Processing prototype.

Co-designed Braille Key | September — November, 2012 †
This project aims for the creation of a novel and effective text input system for the blind, based entirely on Braille alphabets for low cost touch-screen mobile devices, with minimum touch points and small screen size. Prototyped and tested as an Android mobile application, in a team of 3.

Developed Hex | October, 2012 †

Designed and developed an Android application for a mathematical game called Hex, as a self-initiated project.
